Exercise or Practice

Where do you want to be in these areas of life in 5 years?

Relationship?

Work/School?

Family/Friends?

Walk with God?

Church?

Write down how your current week looks, where your time goes?

Write down things you can do to get to where you want to be in 5 years?

Place them in your week, you won’t get to where you want to be by accident.

You need to aim for the place you want to be.

Core Learning - You have as much of God today as you wanted yesterday, and you will have as God tomorrow as you want today.

God can change your plans anytime he wants but don't let that stop you aiming for things.

God is wanting us to move not stay still doing nothing.

It’s not until we are moving that God can give us direction.

He can’t give direction to something that stays still.

Josh Kimes - “Don’t waste a day! If you know where you want to be don't let a day go by where you haven’t taken steps in that direction.”

You give time to what you find valuable and who you find valuable.

Your time is worth a lot!

In Time Movie Illustration - A movie where people countdown on arm for how long they have to live, they buy and trade with time not money.

Their currency is time, they buy things with the time they have, and they earn time by working.

We only have so much time, we can't get it back we can't get more of it.

What we do with it is so important.

Q - What would they like more time for?

Q - What's a value they don’t make enough time for?

Hunger

What we hunger for we make time for.

Bill Johnson - 'In the natural when we are hungry, and we eat we become satisfied. In the spiritual when we are hungry and we eat we become hungrier'

Matthew 5:6 NIV

'Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled.'

God fills the hungry, not the empty.

The scariest place you can be spiritually is empty and not hungry.

God is attracted to our hunger. Sometimes hunger looks spontaneous and exciting but other times it looks like discipline and commitment and routine.

When people diet they make sure they have a routine and commitment to what they are eating. If we want to remain hungry we must create routines of regular consumption.

Regular Bible reading feeds our soul.

The bible can sometimes feel overwhelming on where to start and how to approach it.

How do you eat and Elephant? - One bite at a time. It's the same with the bible. Don't be scared off by its size or style of writing. Find ways to consume it bite by bite.

The Bible app is excellent at helping us with daily devotions and reading plans.

Some meals are memorable - Exciting and we take photos of them and post them online. Other meals are less exciting and predictable.

Eating isn't always about remembering its about nourishment. Even if we cannot remember what we read its feeding our soul with nourishment.

Its important to form daily routines of reading and consuming the bible, it feeds our soul. Sometimes it will be a mind blowing meal that we must post online and share with everyone, other times it will be basic but still feeding and fueling our soul.

God Chasers Book - Tommy Tenny

“As long as there has been God, there have been God chasers. History is filled with their stories. God chasers  transcend time and culture. They come from every background imaginable. They come from every era of time that has existed… From Abrahan the wandering herdsmen, to Moses the adopted stutterer, to David the shepherd boy. As the parade of time continues, the names keep popping up-until we reach today. God chasers have a lot in common. Primarily, they are not interested in camping out on some dusty truth know to everyone. They are after the fresh presence of the Almighty. Sometimes their pursuit raises the eyebrows of the existing church, but usually they lead the church from a place of dryness back into the place of His presence. If you’re a God chaser, you won’t be happy to simply follow Gods tracks. You will follow them until you apprehend His presence. Really, only history can tell us the names of God chasers, but they’re there. Are you one? God is just waiting to be caught by someone whose hunger exceeds his grasp.”
